PHOTOGRAPHY SHOWCASE

All the razzmatazz of the Queen's Jubilee heralds a new exhibition at Purbeck Cottage Studios in Durley, near Bishops Waltham. Opening on Saturday 18th August, the exhibition is part of the Hampshire Open Studios 2012 Event.

One of the few studios in the Event to concentrate on photography, the exhibition showcases the work of eight photographers* with very different styles and there is a wide range of subject from landcapes and seascapes to nature and abstract, in monochrome and colour. In addition, silver jewellery by Helen Plant with handmade lampwork glass beads of shapes and patterns inspired by the natural world will be on show. Photography and art go hand in hand and a small number of canvasses will also be exhibited, and there will be a wide range of greeting cards.

Zoe Hemsley, who owns the Studios with her partner, Simon Mann, says:

"This is a great opportunity for us to show our work to a large audience. We are all keen amateur photographers who belong to local camera clubs. Many of the pictures on show have won trophies and certificates in competitions and the standard of presentation is very high."

The event runs from Saturday 18th August to Monday 27th August 2012. Opening times are 2-6 pm Monday to Friday and 11 am - 7 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Monday. Refreshments will be available. More information and directions to the Studios are on the website: www.purbeckcottagestudios.co.uk
